Today’s article showcases a collaboration between two young artists, Cyd Kion (7 years old) from Iloilo, Philippines, and Kiersten (11 years old) from Geneva, Switzerland, who aim to raise awareness about deforestation.
Cyd’s drawing depicts three trees surrounded by houses, highlighting the devastating impact of deforestation. The accompanying poem by Kiersten, speaks of the irreversible damage done to our planet by deforestation and emphasizes the importance of raising awareness and taking action. Together, their message is a powerful reminder of the need to protect our planet.

Three Trees!
You see three trees, but there used to be more
Hundreds and hundreds, too late to restore.
You see houses, but there used to be none
It was just a forest for nature’s fun.
To raise awareness, this drawing’s just by a kid
Deforestation’s not a problem that can be hid.
I’m sure you loved Kiersten’s poem, so I’ll share with you another one!
Rainbow Trees
Everything is beautiful, from big to small
Nature especially, the tiny and tall.
Respecting nature, this is why
All of it, may they swim or fly.
Trees also have beauty, may they show or hide
But all trees have rainbows inside.
